What Is Blepharoplasty?

Facial expression and emotion is often conveyed through our eyes. What really are just effects of aging or heredity can be mistaken for sadness, fatigue, or anger. As we age, the upper and lower eyelid complex begins to weaken. Skin loses elasticity and begins to droop, and the orbital fat becomes more obvious. While skin laxity is usually an indicator of age, prominent lower eyelid fat that gives the appearance of “bagginess” in a young patient may be familial and inherited.

Eyelid surgery, otherwise known as blepharoplasty, removes excess skin, muscle, and/or fat to help improve the appearance of the eyes in all ages. Dr. Han uses an individual approach to your eyelid surgery to help you look the way you really feel – vibrant, relaxed and youthful.
